Practical Justice Quote

"We fall short of really honoring the Lord's desire if we only throw some money, food and shelter to the homeless and do not address the causes of hunger and homelessness-especially if they are structural in nature and not simply the results of drought and famine or personal sin." Kevin Blue (Practical Justice, pg. 72)

US 2-MEXICO 0 !!!

There's no better way to end an evening than by watching the U.S. Men's National soccer team defeat Mexico. Now don't get me wrong I'm not the type of person who is pushing for immigrants to be sent home. But there's something to be said about the rivalry between the U.S. and Mexico when it comes to soccer. And what poor sportsmanship for Mexico and their coach to leave the field after the game without shaking hands.

Worship (music)

why is there always a band up front? their volume always seems to need to be higher than anything else, through there amps, speakers, etc., why? so much of corporate worship (music) seems to be a performance of showcasing the church's best voices and instrument players instead of the real reason we sing praises to God......to focus on God not people. why can't music times consist of a darkened area with a softly lit cross or images that conjure up thoughts of Christ, and no visible band? who does the church want us to worship, talented musicians or Christ? I can worship better in my car where I can focus on words of praise while I see God's creation around me......I'm far from perfect and I don't have all the answers, but I sure do have questions!
